wild rev counter
Discussion
Guys just had the head gasket done on the Cosworth, now the rev counter is dancing a merry gig and flips 2000rpm - 5000rpm under acceleration which it never did before.
Also on start up now the revs hold at 1800rpm for maybe 20 seconds before gradually calming down.
Anything obvious I should be looking at?
Much appreciated, thanks

would say air leak for the idle issues, try spraying each gasket on the intake with WD40 or brake cleaner and see if the engine note / speed changes. if it does then that gasket has gone or the joint is not tight enough
EDIT: also the rev counter fliping between 2 and 5 sounds like the RPM sensor on the engine is on its way out. either that or the rev counter itself
