Hi guys just put a new v8 in my mgb and its got this type of dizzy in it with 1 wire comig out? my old one had 2, one that went to the positive side of the coil and one to the negative.

So with this one do i just connect it to the positive side yes? and then what goes to the negative side? nothing is my guess, appart from the wire for my rev counter
thanks ......again, i'll get there in the end lol.

Im assuming it has points ??

The single wire can only be the points trigger to charge the coil, which will be negative, and would also work for the rev counter

Ignition feed to the +ve coil terminal, -ve of the coil goes to the dizzy via this single wire as does the tacho lead.

It sounds like your old dizzy had an electronic ignition module. You'd probably be best off swapping this over to the new one

But points wiring. ignition live - plus side of coil, neg side of coil - dizzy
