Vibration Problem HELP!!!

So the story so far goes, my partner has a 2001 Mini One which was fine now on 95,000. We started to notice a small vibration which over a period of a month or so got worse. After taking it to a local garage we were told it’s the drive shaft! This was replaced and still the problem. We then went to BMW (useless) who said buckled wheel and replace the wheel, still te problem! We have since been told gearbox or clutch?? Any ideas?? The symptoms are as follows;

• Vibration only under acceleration
• Stops when you lift off
• in the main between 40-70 mph when its bad, in any gear
• No whining noises

Could it be worn engine mountings allowing ancillary components to touch the body? or exhaust alignment?
