Prerequisites in a big power engine build
Discussion
I always go for high strength custom made forged pistons and a decent ring pack. I spec a strong upper ring land and bowl volume according to the amount of compression I want to run. I also spec top quality pins and obviously a bushed rod end if I can. I like to use round wire locks for piston pin retention. Next, I look at the rpm's being used. Stock rods are usually fine if the revs aren't being upped. I'd usually fit quality rod bolts as a matter of course. For low boost the stock head gaskets are usually fine.

Hi,
In a high power, forced induction engine build, what prerequisites must the base car have?
For example, low CR pistons, forged rods are one of many prerequisites. What else would be included (uprated brakes another)?
I ask as this is for a research project I am doing.
Thanks
So you want everyone else to do your research for you?In a high power, forced induction engine build, what prerequisites must the base car have?

Better you list every item you think would be on the list and have others point you at the missing bits or even remove some items from your list.
