Blue smoke on start up.
Discussion
Hi all.
I have had this problem on my 2004 TD4 engined freelander since i bought it, about 18 months ago.
It only seems to appear if its been left over night or standing for a few days, will start fine with no problems catching but will be reluctant to rev for the first 5 seconds. Getting it to 2000rpm can take a couple of seconds, it will put out some blue smoke, sometimes quite a bit of blue smoke.
After the 5 seconds of it clearing its throat so to speak its fine with no more blue smoke coming out of it. Ive had a faulty glow plug replaced which helped it but i would like to solve the problem permantly and as the cars not getting used much due to my broken foot now would be a good time to get it sorted.
It has full service history and is sitting at 55188 miles.
I have a full warrenty with warrenty direct so if its injectors or such then it will be covered as ive currently had both slave and master clyinder replaced and front propshaft bearings and support bearings replaced and they all have been covered.
Any ideas?
