Noisy tappets on Seat IBIZA 1.4 Sport 16V petrol

Hi,

wondering if anyone can offer advice on the following;

I have a 2006 Seat Ibiza 1.4 Sport(75bhp. Particularly from cold (and also slightly less noticeable when warm) there is a worrying "tappet" clatter from the engine.

I have tried flushes and changing the oil etc but it is still the same.

I have looked on Seat forums and there seems to be varied opinions. Some say that the tappets are faulty and should be replaced and other state that they all do it to some degree and should just ignore it.

I find it difficult to ignore as it sounds like a bloomin' diesel engine!!!

Can anyone please offer some definitive technical advice?????

The car is still under a warranty from the dealer where I bought it so hopefully i can get it resolved before it runs out.#

If the car is sounding like a diesel on start up send it back to the dealer for them to sort. It's not right.

I wouldn't be asking here ,if it was under warranty, I'd be knocking on the door of the dealer to sort it out.................If it isn't right, then just take it to them.
