Fuel leak from carb overflow?
Discussion
I have just bought a Kawasaki KDX250 that needs a bit of work doing to it. The main problem that i need to fix is that when sat (engine not running) fuel is leaking from the overflow on the carb. I have had the carb apart and the float valve looks in good condition.
The floats also move freely and everything seems to be ok. I have also checked the float height and thats fine as well. What else could it be?

Thanks Steve, i stripped and cleaned / checked it all again, and noticed the overflow pipe was close to the floats and possibly causing a slight resistance. I bent it away slightly anyways and drained the crud from the bottom of the tank and refilled. I hooked it all up and looks like problem solved!
Still leaking after a couple of trouble free days
I have had another look and done a bit of research and it looks like i will be repairing peoples bodges
Apparently a lot of Kawasakis had a diaphragm fuel tap, so it would only allow fuel through with the engine running. Mine does not have one of these but it does look like it had a venturi line coming off of the rubber boot after the carb. This line has been cut off and is full of silicone (see pics). This means that there are 3 hoses coming from the carb and going nowhere
Has someone replaced the fuel tap with an incorrect on/off type do you think? This is pissing me off now
