Mate is looking at an 07 ML63, the vendor has just told him it has a thing called a sprint booster under the accelerator.

From what i have seen its an electronic throttle. i never really heard of sprint booster, anyone know anything good or bad?

I beleive all it does is alter the ratio between pedal travel/throttle opening.

So normally 50% pedal travel would equal 50% throttle body opening, but the sprint booster will make it 75% open

No different to most factory fitted Sport buttons it would seem then.

Never understood this logic tbh, is it that hard to press the pedal all the way to the floor for some people confused

yeah to me it just seems a bit silly on a car of the ml63's calibre, any downsides?

In an electronic throttled car, the %ages seem to be a bit random.

It's an old trick a lot of remappers use - shift the throttle %ages, to make the car seem much faster.

Little googling finds the details and install manual:
"http://www.sprintboostersales.com/detail.cfm?year=2000&make=Mercedes&model=ML-Class&engine=Gas or Diesel"
If the box packs up and goes short-circuit does it mean you go spearing of into the hedge? - if the insurance spot it they wont pay out.
