Are there any Ford Mechanics in the PH Massive that can help me???? smash

I've been roped into a job tomorrow to time up a V Reg 2.5 Ford transit engine (normally aspirated), basically the owner had to change the injection pump, lost all the timing and now I have to pick up the pieces. spin

I'm fairly genn'd up but need to clarify a few points...

1. Is there a way to lock off the pump to match TDC, I can't see any marking on the pulley?
2. Will it need to be advanced/retarted once running to complete setup?

Thanks for your help folks

Hello there. There is a peg that goes through the pump centre to set tdc.you can use a tight fitting drill bit.the same size set the cam and a pin goes in above the starter to lock the crank..I allways remove the radiator for ease.don't forget the fan is left hand thread to remove. before removing the old pump look where It's set on the elongated rear mounts and set the new pump in roughly the same way.then see how it runs..good luck.rob
