Frontera problems

I just picked up a 1996 vauxhall frontera sport 2.0 petrol. It was cheap enough and I'm going turn it into a off roader.
The problem started this morning when it was turning over but not firing. I got it running but the revs were hunting. I took it for a run and got the odd miss fire from it. Called to get fuel in it and started ran fine until I got home, pulled into my drive and the hunting started again, along with the engine management light and difficult starting.
Any ideas?

crank or cam sensor most likely problem get it plugged in to confirm

Isnt there the paperclip method off pulling codes off on these?

dont know about that i got a snapon box of tricks i just plug them in
