Skoda vRS chipping question?
Discussion
Looking for a bit of advice.
Took the Skoda to Coombe in December for a snowy/sleety T/D and what a fantastic day it was.
It would have been hell in the TVR but the vRS was sure footed and a great larf!
Had a guy from Superchip look at it yesterday and he tells me the ECU shows it at 150 BHP, (he compared it to info he had of a veedub), I thought these were all 180 BHP or was there a choice?
Anyhoo, even if it is a 150 it can easily be chipped to 200 but if it is a 180 this could be pushed to 220-230.
He, (and no doubt other chippers) need a bit more info to confirm what it is before it's chipped.
Any facts on the actual ECU and standard power?
Also any recommendations for a good chipper?
Cheers.

Mk1 VRS is 180bhp 1.8T.
Engine code should be AUQ (shared with the 2002 onwards 180bhp Mk4 Golf Gti), this has the K03S turbo which will typically see about 210bhp max without other mods like FMIC and better downpipe.
Just checked the engine, code is good, thanks!Engine code should be AUQ (shared with the 2002 onwards 180bhp Mk4 Golf Gti), this has the K03S turbo which will typically see about 210bhp max without other mods like FMIC and better downpipe.
I assume the guy didn't know/not his area of expertise.
If I don't have any other recommendations, I will go to Angel Tuning.
Well, had the Skud done by this guy, Blair Fotherington;

What an improvement, according to his laptop it is giving out 219bhp and improving and 245 torques!
Giving it the beans on un undulating country road flat out in third, the traction light kept flickering on as the wheels were trying to spin!!
Next jobs, sort out the suspension, Milltek exhaust, K & N and an intercooler
