The thread about the impact wrench got me thinking (and on the Machine mart Website).

What capacity compressor do you need for general DIY work.

Light use, Impact wrench for wheel nuts, seized bots etc

Then pop rivets, windy guns/wire brush for cleaning tasks etc.

Starting thinking about my own media blasting chamber now too idea

10 to14 cfm will do most jobs.. a big air tank helps and the slow running belt driven ones are best for noise and lasting...

depends how much you will use it.

for heavy use i would go with at least a 3hp belt driven with 150 litre tank 14 cfm recommend a clarke SE16C150

light/occasional use, direct drive 50 litre 8 cfm something like a tiger 8/64
