I have an odd vibration on the family wagon, a diesel S-Max and I wondered whether it was early signs of DMF failure (or if not what else)?

Basically, under full load in higher gears - not 1st or 2nd and only a little in 3rd - there is a judder / vibration from the engine / box area at around 1750 rpm. It is only apparent under full throttle and is only present for about a 100 - 150 rpm range. If you drive through that rev range at a smaller throttle opening, or even on WOT but down hill there is no problem. The car has done 42k and is on the original clutch etc.

I realise that is a rather vague description, but the symptoms are unlike any thing else I've experienced and I'd always rather get things sorted sooner rather than later!

Could be an engine mount issue.

Pop a gearbox inspection cover off, if its full of woolly black stuff its your DMF which is highly likely
