hi
just rewired my car . it has a ford xflow with a aldon igniter.
the problem is when i switch it on but not start then turn off there is a discharge in dizzy cap .
if i remove the ht lead from the coil the spark jumps across the top of coil
the only time it stops is when i remove the igniter wires off the coil
am i missing an earth on the coil or dizzy.

What exactly is the problem, does the engine not run ok? Getting a spark when you switch the ignition off isn't really a surprise, you are interrupting the flow of current into the coil primary, which is exactly what a set of points (or very simple electronic points like the Ignitor) do.
hi
yes it runs ok its just come off a dyno . done a road test had a bad missfire at about 5000 which went when i changed coil
the only problem i can find is the discharge when i switch off . dont no if that is the cause of the duff coil which was ok on the dyno.
the makers say its not right.
