Car (carbs) floods in turns
Discussion
My 7 runs a 1300 cross flow on twin webber 40's. When turned hard, (track hard not on the road) the engine dies and puffs black smoke, it appears to be flooding very bad, appears worse when turning right, but that may be me, my thoughts are float hight is wrong, but would appreciate advice.
Yesterday we were drifing the car, (on old tyres in the wet) and we couldn't get it to pull doughnuts as the engine was cutting out.

If your suspicion is float height, have you checked them (and weight, accurately, if you have the facilities... if you don't have accurate scales at least balance them against one another to ensure one isn't heavier)? I assume you have also changed the needle valves, which are pretty much a service item on these carbs.
I assume that your breathers are connected to a catch bottle and not back to the carbs/inlet manifold, so that there is no possibility that it's oil being blown back into the inlets?

Sam yes the breathers are to a catch tank, I will check the floats when I have chance but away for two weeks, so my real question is is there anything else it could be? so I get it all done in the limited time available,
I intend to check the floats and the fuel presure, any other suggestions?
