Yaris D-4D Knocking
Discussion
56 reg yaris diesel with around 75k on the clock. Its a driving instuctors car too so has had some abuse.
Now, we are getting some knocking intermittantly when driving but have found a way to get it to be reasonably constant. This is by leaving it in gear and slowing down slowly and it'll do it as it gets down below 1k rpm. Obviously the engine struggle soon after so you have to then put the clutch in.
The &nocking comes from infront of the passengerish. Now ive had the car up and shook banged and wiggled everything with no success.
Does anyone know if these diesels have a duel mass flywheel? and do you think that could be it?
Cheers

have just read this thread, could it be dmf failure or does it not have a dmf? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
