I wouldn't mind adding a shift light to one of my cars as it has quite short gearing on it and seems to get through the gears pretty quick, so a more visual light would be handy.

I've seen these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Which would be ideal. But how do I control which rpms the light lights up?

Cheers.

That isnt a shift light per-se. It is just an LED that you could use for a variety of purposes.

You would need something to control it. Unless your ecu etc can do this, you need a proper shift light package.
More like this

Although no idea what either of those are like or whether they may be suitable for your application.

I used one of these for a few years - it was wonderful. Everything you could realistically want in a shift light package, but without looking ghastly like every other aftermarket shiftlight system.

Also available on eBay, but only from Thailand or Australia as far as I can see...
