One of my pet peeves in life is discourtesy. What does it take to thank someone when they hold a door open for you, or move over to one side to let you through first?
The same thing, of course, applies to the road. To the people who don't feel the need to show some kind of gratitude when I relinquish my right of way I say the following: who on earth do you think you are?, do you think that you are in someway superior to me and deserve right of way in every situation your arrogant arse finds itself?

That's a more general rant, though. What's really annoying me at the moment is that cyclists do this all the fing time. I've recently been experimenting with being courteous to cyclists and it's in danger of going out of the window if I don't have a single one of the fs thank me when I relinquish my right of way in the next week (and it hasn't happened so far so I don't see why it will).

Were there any points for cyclists in Death Race 2000?

And your mechanics
I always wave thanks, or try to kick. Depends on the driver.

I've been trying to ride a bike recently and have been saying thanks like I would in a car. Riding a bike fcukin hurts though.

as an occasional rider of a (push)bike i know how shit drivers can teacher people on bikes, especially not giving them enough space when passing them.

so i always try to give plenty of space in the vain hope i will recieve the same back!

I always say thanks when people give me right of way whether I'm on my bike, in my car or on horseback. But it's true a lot of people don't, and that's getting more common in cars now too.

And what about people taking right of way when it's not theirs!! My pet hate is people who pull out from behind parked cars when they can see there isn't room for them to get round, and they more or less force you to give way. And they're followed by the 4, 5, 6 cars after them. Oh, and if you dare to try and insist on your right of way they hoot at you!!

the cyclist is putting a lot more effort into getting from a to b than the lazy car driver.
dont forget that in heavy traffic you are in his/her way.
personaly i take the view that if i let someone take right of way,all i want is for them to use it now and not wave then let the handbrake off then stall then look all sheepish then pull out enough to block the road then stop.
i drive in town for a living and cyclists are the least of the problem, let em go without a wave
