As an owner of a 3rd Generation RX7 I may be slightly biased, does anybody know of a sexier looking Japanese car? This is clearly not one for the Scubby and Evo brigade (fully appreciate their awesome driving experience)!

I guess you could say that RX7s are sexy, in a Rik Mayall kind of way.

The original 240Z looked Ok, probably because it took its styling cues from classic British sports cars, in the same way an MX5 does the same thing. Can't think of any Japanese cars (not just sports cars) that look original, refreshing and stylish. Can think of quite a few that are pug ugly.

Honda NSX - Still think it's one of the best looking jap motors available. Just waiting for the grey imports to bring the prices within my reach !

Jealousy is such a terrible affliction. I would accept the NSX is a superb looking car. However I still think the smooth contours of the RX7 is hard to beat, The 3rd Generation is 10 years old and its design still turns admiring glances. With perfect 50:50 wait dispersion, all the creature comforts and true rear wheeled driving force, its unbeatable. It tranced all the competition (German and British) when it came out in 1992 and remains, as I stated in my prior post the best value for money true sports car, available. It lacks in but one department....engine note, for sound a V8 is hardc to beat. Please someone offer up a japanese sports car that is 10 years old that looks better...I rest my case.

Gotta agree with Podie - the CRX in silver looks just like some interesting little tool/trinket you would but from one of these 'boys toys' (no, not that type!) websites.

But I can't decide between RX7 and 2000GT (coupe though) already mentioned...

But then what do I know - I like the Mk1 MR2 and the earlier Nissan 200SX

Cheers, Phil

If yours is the RX7 I think it is, it sounds pretty good to me....

the V8 is different that's all (especially with the silencing removed).

Anyway, it's about time you identified yourself. I suspect you're Nick the owner of the RX7 to be seen with my Griff on my profile. In which case you know how good your car sounds and looks so stop looking for complements you sly old dog!!!

Cheers

Absolutely has to be last generation Twin Turbo RX-7, fantastic car. Soooo nearly bought one. Has to be standard (maybe some aftermarket alloys), I've seen some truly hideously max prat'ed ones.

I'm not sure Jap Mobiles have ever been rated for their design looks, although they have developed their own max-power-meets-manga type of style.

Personally I'd have to go for the R34 Skyline as the ultimate silly jap-power-wagon type look. I think the RX7 is a rip off of european styling and so lack originality. (puts on flame jacket)

Mind you, the P1 looks good too (see profile). redictablecomment:

Yip thats it for me too, nothing IMHO compares but only very small number of them left now (single figures?) and at daft prices.

For modern stuff the pics of the 350Z look great, so looking foward to seeing one in the flesh.
