Granturismo, specs and revisions

Looking to replace my C63 AMG soon, it's been fun scratching that itch but hoping to get back into something a little more comfortable and classy again. Once again I find myself looking at 4.7 Granturismo Sport models with the ZF auto box.
The PH buying guide for the V8 models is a bit old now and doesn't seem to cover the last facelift models. Did the later facelift cars (2018 I think?) have any mechanical or performance upgrades compared to the earlier 4.7s?
Also, I've seen some cars with larger, more modern infotainment screens. I've also noticed one or two that seem to have dual screens, the second one replacing the physical controls below the main screen. Are these all factory systems from different spec or age cars or are some of these likely to be aftermarket efforts?
I'm aware of the variator issue, I gather that this was sorted prior to the 4.7 engine being introduced, is that right? Any other things like that which got sorted out at a certain point in the model run?
