Avon ZZ5 245 40 ZR18 are very close to underside of the spring seats on the front (standard struts), even rub a little, which concerns me a bit. This may be different with another brand, as rolling circumference and width don't seem set in stone at a particular size.
Similar situation here, I`m running Eagle F1`s + Pedders shocks (was the same with the OE shocks as well),no trouble with 245`s on the rear but the inner edge of the fronts caught the lower spring plate of the front shocks so had to stick with 235`s on the front. The P Zeros that were on it before had a lot more clearance & a 245 would have probably cleared - just.

No problems here with avon zz5 245/40/18I have that size on my CV8, using Vred Ultra Sessanta, but the fronts are really really really (did I emphasise that enough?) to the front (standard) suspension bits. Rears are fine. When it's time, I'll go to MPSS or the current equivalent, but might try and go to 235 at front as understand MPSS sit quite proud on the rim (so I'm told).

Several people insisting there is no problem with 245/40/18 have peddars or other coil over damper. It's the spring seat of the standard strut that is the problem. It just touches with most 245/40 profiles.
245/40/18 97y xl rating pedders suspension never had any probs in any way form or fashion.jameshsv said:
