Have you fixed the problem? If not the light will keep coming back.

Depending on where you are exactly in Cheshire, try Mike Ryan (07968 785528) from Cheadle. He's a mobile auto electrician and reset the airbag light on mine, and then fitted a new clock spring when we realised that was the cause of the light coming on.

Why don't you disconnect the battery for 30 mins or more then it will reset itself. The air bag module retains power for longer than the ECU but 30 mins or should do it. Just give it a hour to be safe.
If the light comes there must be a airbag fault. When the air bag light is on the seat belts pre tensioners don't work either.
So getting the fault read is a good idea. But disconnect the batt first and see what happens..

Really? scratchchin Didn't know that, just assumed it was a flag stored in non-volatile memory. Will have a play.

The air bag light uses a latching switch, so I don't think disconnecting the battery for any length of time will work.

Correct. And its not necessarily going to be the airbag, faulty coilspring in the steering wheel has been know to cause the light. I've had my SRS codes read with a tech 2 and its not at all helpful.

It was the clock spring in mine when the light came on. Diagnosed by the auto electrician (Mike Ryan I mentioned above) by looking at the values changing in Tech 2 as he moved the wheel lock to lock, and using a bit of nouse to come to that conclusion.

I created a thread about it here a few years back with pics: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
