OK I know this has been done before but the threads are a bit old. I don't want to start a whole argument about badge snobbery if possible, but in theory if I wanted to change the steering wheel badge to Holden or HSV and the wheel centres also (on 19" VXR alloys) where can I get these from? I know there have been group buys before but they are long gone.... Thanks.

They're not cheap, but Monkfish have them on their site, though you have to pick through to find the bits.

Walkinshaw do a kit for £100 for the VXR8, so maybe they do the same for the Monaro?

Neither include the air bag. Most people get a jelly dome badge made for this locally. I'm sure people will PM you with details of who have the artwork for this. smile

You'll find most of the badges including the wheel centre caps for sale as a pack on Walkinshaw Performance UK's web site.

Finding a genuine HSV steering wheel badge is like finding rocking horse poo. www.ebay.com.au is your best bet, although you might find that the only way to do it is to purchase a complete air bag from Oz and install that. Not cheap though.

Some have gone down the path of having a badge printed using this site www.domedbadge.co.uk but it's not the same.

The final way of doing it is to do what I did, and go purchase an E3 VXR8 GTS as this has the genuine HSV steering wheel badge biggrin

Thats funny, it always works for me.

Just put domedbadges in Google and see if it works that way.

If you have a part number, I can pop to the local dealer then post it to you.

I tried this. Unfortunately the HSV dealers in Aus will only sell the full airbag unit and not just the badge, plus they want a chassis number to verify it really is for a HSV to protect the brand, and our VX variants don't count in their eyes frown

It's a kind offer though smile

You mean a chassis number, from a proper HSV, like the one in my garage now? hehe

Don't understand this point, these are HSV cars built in Australia, the VX part surely only comes in to play because of how they registered over here??

Seems very strange if that's not the case !

The point was that HSV dealers in Aus don't recognise the chassis numbers of our Vauxhall VXR8s as HSVs, and thus will not supply parts for them.

Not saying I agree with it, but that's how it is unfortunately.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've finally ordered and had delivered my HSV badge for the steering wheel on my Monaro, do I need to remove the Vauxhall one, or can the new one just go over the top?

If the badge needs removing, what's the best method? Found loads of info on the VXR8, but not the Monaro. Thanks.

You can remove the vauxhaull badge but need a very sharp tool and some force to remove.
