Hello just a note of caution , where the road works were on the m25 junction with the A1 towards Enfield , the gantries have cameras on them , they were like a disco show and going off at fairly near to the speed limit , so just to be aware

Were they displaying anything on the approaching side though as I understood all cameras were active when they were actually showing something and when the screens were off so were the cameras....?

There are cameras on top of the gantry going off plus extra flashes from cameras or just flash guns to improve images , it is national speed there with the ability for variable speed , it was the same thing again today they were going off a lot , I stuck at about 75 and all seemed ok , I did not want to go faster , I did not always notice the stripped paint on the road under the cameras , I never agree with cameras on a road like that it's purely targeting , outside a school yes , shame there is not a camera for bad driving , managed to nearly get hit by two bmw drivers one a m3 no indicator lane discipline or sense the other adjusting stereo as he wandered into my lane , I can honestly say I'm not that surprised lol

The HADEC3 Cameras are up and running but these are only for monitoring the motorway apparently as they are run by the Highways Agency, http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI...

The Daily Wail spouted something about a secret camera system but yet to be confirmed, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2550666/St...

Seems the new cameras are placed strategically

I also noticed these cameras flashing between junction 24 and 25 of M25 on Monday 26th May. My speedo was hovering just below 75, but am fairly certain I was flashed as were a number of other cars behind me, who all looked to be doing same speed or less than me.
Not sure if these cameras are live? No other restrictions showing on the motorway at the time. Does anyone know if these particular cameras are now live and if so, seems to suggest they are set to flash at 75mph or less? Thanks.

In America they actively enforce a minimum speed limit. Individual states have the the ability to set their own upper and lower limits - one has an upper limit of 85mph.

Didn't see any cameras in a Florida at all - they actively use their police to enforce limits. You can't beat the human element of enforcement not the cyber camera approach we have here in the UK. Human judgement is lost here completely.

We should adopt their overtake on both side rule as well - no more lane hogging - wouldn't that be bliss?

I think i got done doing 79/80 at 23.30 and no other cars in sight. Might trade Brutus in for an Ampera if this is the way things are heading!

I seemed to have set off a massive flash last night, I don't know the exact location but it was halfway between junction M25/M11 and junction M25/M40 going anti-clockwise. I was doing about 80mph as the road was deserted. Very frustrating if I were to get a fine as I always stick to 50mph in the SPECS zones where there's roadworks even in the middle of the night. Let's wait and see what happens. Hopefully they're only doing test runs and not actually fining people yet

If it was normal speed limit, 80 shouldn't have set it off. If it had something up on the signs (so 50 etc.) then they're probably on and they won't be impressed unfortunately frown

This is the thing with these cameras, they are going off (double flash) around 80mph if not at slower speeds too :confuesd: could be they are still testing ?

Axayoz , sorry don't know your name , did you get a ticket of nothing heard , the other thing to be aware of Monaros and vxr8 don't have an off set speedo , what it says is what you are doing , other cars normally off read by 3 to 4 mph , so speedo shows 80 mph actual speed is 77 mph or so
