You could try the M40 if it's quiet.

I found this on is forum somewhere and posted over on vxronline heres a snippet:

Mik_Ok's post:
"I couldn't find info on vMax in each gear the other night, so worked it out from gear ratios etc.

1st = 46 mph
2nd = 68 mph
3rd = 98 mph
4th = 140 mph
5th = 166 mph (would need 155mph limiter removed)
6th = 245 mph (shamone mothahubbard)

VXR8 data below (oem 19" tyre sizes and 6.5krpm)

Gear : MPH/1000rpm : VMax (mph)
1st : 7.1 : 46.4
2nd : 10.4 : 67.5
3rd : 15.0 : 97.7
4th : 21.5 : 139.6
5th : 25.6 : 166.2
6th : 37.7 : 245.0

No mention of what rpm's you're using for any of those numbers though.

Correct. Except where I quoted 6.5krpm. wink

It's not clear from the quote, bu th first set of numbers were my calculations, and the second set were what I subsequently found on the web. Or the other way round. Regardless - Inwas just pleased they matched.

What ratios did you end up putting in for 5th & 6th Gary?

Hoping to very soon matey.
It pulled more at TR than I did at my last VMax, so I reckon it should get there.

I take it the previous numbers posted were for a manual, as the auto is slightly different, 3.27 diff for example.

1st = 39 mph
2nd = 66 mph
3rd = 102 mph
4th = 136 mph
5th = 184 mph
6th = 234 mph

Last time I did T.R. at a mile digital speedo was indicating 160 actual was 158,so the digital speedo is pretty accurate!

Interestingly, If you read the speed from the OBD port it is actually accurate (same as my phones gps) whereas the speedo is over reading to about 5mph (both the corsa and the beemer are the same)

I noticed this too. GPS speed on my phone lags, but if cruising at say 70mph then the GPS speed on phone and OBD port are both usually within 1mph of each other. The analogue dial however is a few MPH higher, but not 10% higher
