Not mine! The R8! The cars knocking on now with 120k plus on the dash, and although its had a couple of standard sets of dampers on it (its also lowered by a couple of inches) the latest set have also given out. Now it does make for interesting driving when pushing corners on your own!! But its pretty poor scraping you tail down the A303 4 up!! Dont want to spend a fortune, so wondered if you had any ideas? Thanks.

Pedders Supercar Coilover. Not cheap but very good.

Didn't thing stock shockers were very good with lowered springs.

You cold also look at Tein - they supplied the OE set up on the VXR8 Bathurst - recently saw one with the trick remote adjustable damper set-up. Speak to Walkinshaw Performance UK.

If you're interested in Tein, speak to AAS Newcastle too....... I believe they have a set of the trick remote damper kit in stock.

Interesting!! I put Tein Street Race on my STI some 10 years ago after breaking all the standard kit and it was amazing (if not a little rough on the back!!)
Appreciate the feedback chaps

I can try and get you a part number Jason- I'll get back to you tomorrow smile I believe it's the same suspension system that Stevie (VXR8fq) has installed.

Standard springs, with Pedders shocks. It will last a lot longer than any coilover set up.

Not if you take time fitting them, greasing up the relevant parts and using coilover covers. Only tight wads say this about Coilovers...... Araf....... wink

For a high mileage daily driver, if you want to keep the ride comfort, just replace the shocks with the Pedders GSR. More composure than the stock shock, an no reduction in ride comfort.

Coilovers suit some people, but not all. Knowing the OP, ill stick with the above suggestion.

yep sounds right, I did love the HSD's (rememebd) they did a great job but I doubted they would have lasted more than a couple of years (tops) without a rebuild, I was actually budgeting for annual work

I've had too many sets that are noisy or don't last, to bother with them again. They may be fine for your garage queen, but conventional suspension is more than up to the job for road and track day work. tongue out

Cheaper you say? I hadn't noticed. whistle

Tein Coilovers

I've heard back from AAS. As the coilover set was put together for AAS specifically, there is no off-the-shelf part number for the kit itself (p/n for the individual parts are below). The kit consists of:
- Mono-flex style shocks – bump & rebound altered together
- Set of springs – fronts sit on shocks, rears locate separately
- EDFC Controller – EDK04-P8021
- EDFC Motor KIt – EDK05-12120
- GPS Kit – EDK07-P8022

The EDFC active kit is pretty trick: http://www.tein.co.jp/e/products/edfc_active.html

If you look on the Tein site the mono flex kit specs & EDFC details are there too.

The price of the kit – supply only is £2,975 inc. vat, if needed they can fit & have the car set up, this would be approx. £750-850 inc. vat (a good portion of this would be the alignment/corner weight set up).

Any questions, just ask. Alternatively, you can get AAS on 0191 267 3718.
