What else do you run as a daily as I am swapping jobs and will start to drive to work soon. I wont use the R8 as its too expensive as a hack and I want to keep it in good nick.
Mostly motorway work so no little cars....? Budget about 3kish...

Not that I have this issue at all but if it was me I'd be looking at a Jag XJ or BMW E38 for that money.

Pic we time smile

My Dog Basket:

3 months in, nothings gone wrong. Played with the Engine (1.9TD), now pushing 180bhp and 270lbs/ft, sits on the motorway at 80 and give me a true 50mpg, dropping to low 40's around town.
Not the biggest estate, but think of it as a large hatchback.
All the toys, climate, heated leather, USB, voice activated bluetooth etc. etc.

And of course, looks to die for.

(But if I was you, I'd be looking at something German... Or a Mondeo TDCI Titanium )

Cheers for the feedback. Noticed some high mile Insignias about so might go for one of them as its 90% highway work
I will use it for so wear and tear will be low.

My R8 is my daily car.

If going shopping or visiting friends or family I always take the wifes FIAT 500.

Unfortunately she has the 1.2 Lounge which is so under powered it's borderline dangerous so motorway journeys are a definite no no.

Ended up with a black Insignia CDti eco flex. Been ill since I've brought it so no thoughts apart from the fact it's geared so tall in 6th! Should be cheap to run. smile

good choice, just make sure you get it to regenerate the EGR ie occasional thrashing

You mean the DPF regeneration.... of which it wont have for long since its being remapped and "modified!". Who can say no to 200hp and shed loads of torque.

Just need some decent weather to give the paintwork a good work over as its.... black!!
