Diff Oil Change - How much Additive
Discussion
Haven't been on here for ages, but having dragged the car out of hibernation just in time for the snow and rain, I'm going to be changing diff oil in next couple of days.
I've bought the appropriate purple goo from the Fishmeisters...question is how much of the friction modifier stuff should I add?
Thanks in advance for your help

I asked the same question recently http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... and I was told by Monkfish1 in regards to the amount of oil needed for the gearbox, diff and engine.

2 bottles for the diff. You probably wont need the modifier. 5 bottles for the gearbox with a bit left over. Engine is 6.2 litres.
and also this about the amount of modifier to usemonkfish1 said:

If the modifier helps then I'd like to include it, just to make sure I give the diff the best care it can get. Although not needed would you recommend?
To much modifier will mean your LSD doesn't lock up at all. Nice and queit, but not much use in getting power to the road. The diff oil has a modifier blend in it already that is usually enough to make it work properly. Sometimes on higher mileage diff they need a little extra. If the modifier helps then I'd like to include it, just to make sure I give the diff the best care it can get. Although not needed would you recommend?
