ObvI cannot confirm the exact as I dont have one any more but

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Vauxhall_VXR8_6....

thats what I stuck into the M5 (btw it comes up for both m5 and LS3. I had the official OEM new battery and it died in its fist winter, CCA was too low really. I now have a tracker, the car is hardly used and that battery has lasted 2 years and starts first time every time

I always verify the dimensions when picking the battery up but thats what I have and thats what I would reocmmend.

Good luck with changing it. Let me know if you have to take the passenger seat out to do it, so I can be ready when the time comes.

Even though the boot is massive, it's not, on a Maloo or Ute. wink

Depends where you are measuring, as volt drop through various wiring can skew readings.

But anything below 10v at cranking certainly isnt great.

11.7v at 100% capacity before starting (we have a trickle charger on it at all times), 9.6v when cranking, then back to 14.5v while charging.

I think you've got a bad cell in yours. Always shows up when the weather gets cold. frown

Hi Ian cheers for doing that , mine is a bit less on the crank I wonder if it's worth doing , at least it's not as bad as I expected

Cranking is when it needs it. Have you not got a trickle charger that you can hook up to it?

If the battery is over 3 years old on a low mileage car, best to change battery as it's had a hard life, battery conditioners are definitely a good item to use as they do keep the battery in tip top condition.

Battery conditioner ordered, I will see how battery goes and see if I need a new one or lack of charging , Monaro gets lots of use but not Maloo as a bit more of a pig to drive in slippery conditions

experience dictates that you will need a new battery

I ended up conditioning the same battery 3 or 4 times regularly before I bit the bullet, got the bosche and havnet had issues since

I have a conditioner too but to be honest so long as you drive your car at least once a week you'll be ok without. I also have a boost jumper but instead of it being an insant draw down, you leave it connected for a few minutes to fast trickle - it lowers damage to the cells.

do you have an aftermarket alarm or anything that could be drawing down power?

I Have a tracker but it's been on car since I bought it , I'm going to see how charger goes and then put batt conditioner on it , I will think about doing battery I want to keep car dry so not much use at the mo which can't help plus had headlights on recently as was changing bulbs
