All the road reports I've read have been positive as they can be about a yank motor but if the end user has no mechanical sympathy then no engine is going to last long

What, from these ones? hehe

More seriously, I think the Monaro ones are deeper - and even if they weren't, then I would say that a seat that imitates another from 10 years ago is as close to a backward step as you can get.

Their whipple would be far more efficient than any of the Maggie etc blowers, they're also far bigger. So both of things things will mean far less heat to start with.

No idea how good or big the actual chargecooler units are though. Presumably with the wider head spacing, there is more room there too ?

Plus they're American HP. They're cooler to start with lol

I just remember that the Ethyl build had a bigger engine, equally massive Whipple and a huge chargecooler, but struggled to make 1000hp.

No harm to the guy, but he seems intent on spending money and posting about it online, than actually having a fast car and using it.
And the shop doing the work, whilst they do appear to have built some fast cars...really do seem to be struggling.

I dont know how much of the changes etc he instigated or what the deal is, but in many ways I feel sorry for him.

He must have spent a clean fortune over the last 3-4 years with what reads like almost minimal driving time with the car.
And how much is bad luck or bad workmanship or parts..again hard to tell.

As always, and as Leatherman alluded the other day. Just because an engine has lots of bits bolted to it, or claims to be built etc...doesnt mean all "tuners" can get the same from that build. Some just blow more up than blow HP records.
