I have a VXR Monaro which has the manufacturers standard CD/radio player.
Recently I noticed that the green crystal display screen seems to be permanently illuminated even when the uit is off (particularly noticeable at night obviously) - This can't be right surely?
As if to confirm this I have come back from holiday to find the battery dead (a new Bosch S5 which I installed to replace a seemingly ailing Halfords one which I thought wasn't up to the job)

Is there a way of turning this damn screen off? (ie have a inadvertantly activated it somehow) Or do they all do this and I am barking up the wrong tree? confused

Its on an adjustable delay circuit. You can change the delay through the trip computer thingy.

its also tied in to the door plungers, so if you have one that's not working properly to turn the interior light one and off this will cause your problem.. check the drivers side as the radio will stay on until the drivers door is opened (using the plunger as a sensor)
