Ill be going to this, shame the usual comments are posted, never see these comments when the power events pop up.

The meet at the ace is actually a lot more civilised than your average chav banger meet at the ace, in the 5 years we have been going not one car has got into trouble and the meet is well attended with around 100 vehicles on show.

You see worse at a V8uk meet but I wont mention those, they are clearly visible across social media.

I'm gonna second this actually. I've been to quite a few local VXR meets and the young lads in their corsa's are usually very well behaved, and just want to chat and talk bks about cars like the older generation do. They don't deserve the bad rep.

3rd that, they are ok guys but..... I'm sure I didn't talk such bks about the HP my car made or how fast it is etc etc when I was that age! All I wanted then was a Doli Spint to replace my tweaked 1850.... is that showing my age? biggrin

I totally agree with you Bri. Over the years i have been to many car meets etc and found the ones that are organised buy car enthusiasts on Vxronline to be the best i have attended.

They are far from chavvy as Dee Tee puts it.

I used to go the the sunday services when i had my Corsa VXR and found it very hard to engage in conversation with the people at these meets, possibly because they thought my Corsa was chavvy.

I have been to events where there have been 8's present and some of them feel the need to let everybody know that they have a big engine with a loud exhaust on it, by doing one of 2 things.

1. Revving the engine
2. driving like a tool out of the car park

This action to me just says they are the chavs...........

I've been to a couple of VXR events in my first year of ownership, which were Very Well Organised (Thanks to Dougie, the VXR Team and Javelin too) the people I met (from both 'camps') were enthusiastic, helpful courteous and a thoroughly nice bunch and definitely not 'Chavs'.

Sure, there was bit of playful banter, but it was all in good fun.

The scale of economies dictate that to make these big events vialble, we need all the support we can get from the front And rear wheel drivers.

A few stupid comments just make things more difficult for promoting Interaxle Relations.

Now, where did I put the keys to my 'LS2 Calibra' biggrin

In all fairness, I think the comment was a bit tongue in cheek, so not to be taken too seriously.

My take on it is that 4 cylinder VXR owners may eventually migrate up to the requisite eight, so more power to your elbow.

I'd go, but I haven't got a VXR, yet.

The guys I have met from VXROnline are a nice bunch, I just feel a bit old when around them hehe

I won't be able to make this as the wife is away next week and have been to the Ace very recently for 'Straya day.

I agree, but I think that joke is wearing a bit thin with the boosted chicken in a circle brigade. wink
