Check engine warning

I had the check engine flash up on the dash on my way home last night, it happened around 4-5k rpm but then went away again as soon as I slowed down. A quick google suggests it may be a misfire. Anybody else had this & is there anything I need to look at before I book it into Vauxhall.

Also on the way to work in the morning I had jerking from the engine when crawling in traffic, so 2nd gear 10-15mph. I can't help but think these two are connected or was this just coincidental?

Periodically I get "check engine" with a few bleeps. So open up the bonnet and yep its still there, and off we go. Happened since I've owned her. Monaro vxr. Not had the second issue.

I used to get the occasional check engine light due to an O2 sensor failing.

It never impacted the performance of the car however.

An OBDII code reader is cheap off ebay/amazon and with an app on your phone could give you any standard codes that are stored (possibly not the GM specific ones however). Alternatively if somebody near you has EFI Live they would probably read the codes for you.

I had a similar problem last week, car was a bit lumpy while driving then the check engine light came on. Scanned the fault code and came up with MAP sensor, so took the map sensor off and cleaned it with brake cleaner, let it dry and refitted it and cleared the codes. All seems fine now.

Mine does it occasionally, but depends on my fuel really. I know I've got an O2 sensor on it's way and that's what causes mine. Never does it on V-power though!!!! Does it very occasionally on Tesco 99. Tried it on Esso super a few weeks ago and it kept coming on. Back to V-power and not been on since! It was mapped on V-power though, so I think a mixture of that and a tired O2 sensor. Had you tried a different fuel when yours came on???

The cars only ever been run on V power so don't think its fuel. I'll check the MAP(?) sensor & O2 sensors over the weekend.
