audio upgrades

After selling my r8 last year and foolishly buying a gtr I'm now looking at coming back to an r8.

The only thing I'll miss is the audio system from the gtr ie the screen and multimedia interface. Are their any upgrades available apart from fitting a later unit and dash parts.

I suppose it's the stupid little things like no rds, usb, or nav that I'm after.

Alpine do an adaptor to allow you to fit a normal double din, or even their slightly larger 8" unit into the VXR8 I believe.

That will give you plenty of options. Quite a few decent Alpine units available. All do the usual, nav, bluetooth, dab. Have options for front and rear cameras etc etc.

Not much between them. Just the Alpine comes in the bigger 8" display they offer for some of their double dins now. Think they both use similar controller for the AC system, might even be the same one. Just a case of picking the one you prefer.

Thanks for that, its a shame you have to lose the hvac controls though.

I'd love to fit the later holden iQ unit but at about £3k its a bit steep!

Their seems to be an android based system thats just become available though and looks more stock so may investigate that a bit more. http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183...

Good to see it may be available here at some point. Looks like the same issues they had with the early american ones but they sorted them out.

Just need to find a car to fit it to now.! Thanks for the help.
