door lock issue.

Hi guys I have a 04 cv8 and sometimes I have a passenger related locking issue.

not had it apart yes. hoping to this weekend.

if I lock it with the key the passenger door doesn't lock , if I push the button manually then lock the rest of the car its fine.

I thought it was the little red indicator stopping the button going down (tight clearance) but I don't think its that.

are lock motors prone to issues or failure ?? anything else it could be ???

yes, the door lock motors do die. Have a search, there's been threads before. Often the first thing you notice is the alarm going off as it detects locking state being out of sync.

IIRC some of our more adept members have resurrected a faulty motor by disassembly and lubrication.
Others (me) have tasked the 'fish and they replace them,

hmm a chance I can fix it then.. if only a slim one. ill hope for good weather so I can strip and maybe fettle it.

how much was a new one off hand if you don't mind.
