My Monaro doesn't get to stretch her legs during the week and especially during winter months but this weekend I set off on a 200 mile jaunt around Scotland with some friends to really blast off the cobwebs.
The country roads were excellent but the car doesn't handle very well or to be more precise it doesn't feel sure of itself. There is a lot of body roll going on and it's not something that can handle a corner with confidence. This isn't a bad thing however because it's really highlighted the fact I'd like to improve this. Does anyone have any recommendations on suspension setups that can drastically improve a Monaro VXR handling?
I also bought myself an external microphone for my GoPro to see if I could capture some of the V8 noise from my Wortec switchable exhaust. It's the first test I have done and although I'm happy with the results there is still a little bit of clicking coming from the mic itself which needs to be improved on perhaps with a better quality mic I'm not sure. As a note I still run stock headers and cats.

You can fit poly bushes and adjustable shocks at considerable expense, which will 'smarten' up the ride. Don't expect to make a Monaro 'handle', however, as it's just not that type of car. I took mine (bushes, shocks, AP brakes, etc) round a track and was embarrassed by all sorts of fairly mundane cars on the corners. It's a GT, so enjoy it for what it is.

Sound on your vid is great.
I thought at first that it was a forward facing camera, and was mightily impressed by your reversing confidence. Then you changed up.
Haha you're not the first person to say that about the camera I thought at first that it was a forward facing camera, and was mightily impressed by your reversing confidence. Then you changed up.

I also shot a video from the front with the mic in the engine bay but you don't really hear anything of interest in there.

At this point I feel that any improvement would be a massive improvement, just something to make those days when you fancy a hoon a little bit more enjoyable. It'll never handle like it's on rails and I'm totally fine with that as it's not what I signed up for anyway but there are adjustments that I think need to be made. As you've said there is a considerable cost attached to those changes though it's know what to buy as there are quite a few items available, I've sent a message to the 'fish' anyway to see what their take on it is. The car is totally standard in terms of her set up.
