Wortec Switchable Experience

Going to have the R8 looked at by MW Performance this week, while in I was thinking about getting the valves fitted into the Wortec. Its set on loud at the minute but I would like to switch it quiet occasionally. As I only use the car once a week would I have seizing problems or does it only happen if stood longer. Any other comments would be welcome.

If you use the valves, you should be fine. The problem is when people leave them in one position for months on end.

I went to change mine to the loud plates manually last week only to find it already had them fitted think I need headers now.

I'd save your money as it will ways be on loud

Love it on loud, but its not appreciated by everyone, I waited till 9am on Sunday before going out. If you think yours is quiet then headers and cats must make a big difference, I think mine sounds like a Nascar.

Sorry - yes it had a TVS S/C fitted but you can still tell difference at back end of loud/quiet

I could never really tell much difference tbh. Ran it in the loud setting at all times.

Works for Me And the Neighbours , Just use em or I hear they get stuck

I used mine on a daily basis but they soon started to play up and would either stick open or closed. My second VXR8 just had the Wortec in manual loud mode which is what I think I'd be tempted to stick with.

Checked the forum about nine this morning and thought Ill order the valves, which I have. Ill just see how it goes. Thanks Guys for the input.

Yep, apologies for timing! I'm currently in your future, except when I post in your past!!

I'm sure they will be fine. I did like the fact I could leave the house at daft o'clock and not wake all of the neighbours!

May be give the valves/moving parts a good coat/spray of grease before you fit them, might help stop the carbon build up on them?

I dropped the R8 off at MWP Chester last night to have the valves fitted. It's a shame its not having something a bit more exciting done to it. Maybe next time.
