Nah, those look like Goodyear Eagle F1's nerd

The plan is to be able to choose the Orange Peril for when I need the boot.

Or

Use a Modified or Home Made New panel with a cutout so the Full Sized Spare Nestles inside - as seen in the first Post for those longer Journeys when a flat could really spoil your Day / Weekend.

The Exact location for the Full spare has not been finalised yet, but flat is not an option as it simply won't fit because of the US legislated Petrol Tank Location. furious

You can remove the carpetry between fuel tank and boot for some more clearance?

There's also a HUGE bracket there that apparently is so heavy it sheers off its bolts in the event of a rear end impact hehe

Here's the bracket:

Here's a large rear end impact with the bracket sat on the kerb in mint condition hehe By most accounts putting the fuel tank up there for the US market wasn't the most thoroughly engineered job GM have ever put their name to if you can believe it!

I thought about Removing the panel at the back, but a few taps told me there was some serious ironmongery behind it...

Having looked at your photo thumbup there may be some scope for maneuver there (will try later) but I fear that the Only way it would go in is by deflating the tyre eek Square peg in a Round Hole Springs to mind... laugh

As for the 2nd photo - Ouch! Looks like it got hit hard by a truck yikes

I believe the guy lost control at speed and hit the central reservation rather hard. Presumably he came across the first corner he'd ever seen and was utterly baffled as to what to do next laugh

If the clearance to diff is sufficient why not cut and band the wheel recess to take a full size wheel.
If clearance in the centre is tight then perhaps a dished recess would work.

That's what I'd be looking at and probably cheaper in the long run than modifying interior panels and trim.

Just cut the metal out so that the wheel fits. No need to fix the holes, the tyre is only going to get dirty later anyway hehe

Nope, just won't fit between the tank frame and the boot sill cry

The Orange Peril only fits because it's for all intents and purposes 2 Dimensional eek

So Back to Plan A... laugh
