Just got to Bellingers for my complimentary service and have been told it is also getting some warranty work done on the EPAS. If you own a gen-f it might be worth you contacting your dealer as I haven't heard about this before now.
Just got some more information, it appears that the connector behind the bumper appears to be letting water in and corroding giving a dodgy signal to the EPAS, leading to failure. All they need to do is coat the connector in some waterproof grease.
