Have been looking at an item that is on eBay Australia. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with buying from there and the import process? Any help would be great. Thanks

Be sure you know what the shipping will be as it can be very expensive. Also depends how the custom label is marked ie gift and low value otherwise you can and usually are hit with import tax. It down to what is put on the customs document and a bit of luck by the looks of it.

I ordered a cold air induction kit off Aus eBay last year, shipping took around a week, and no customs charge despite the packaging. Seller was original parts group. Excellent product. ☺

Many retailers and sellers on eBay are just not interested in shipping outside Aus, in my experience...

Have found this place, though, that will ship worldwide:

Have used various sellers in Aus. Including ebay and had no issues. Delivery between 5 and 7 days. Postage cost ain't cheap but it goes to various places enroute and all fully tracked. No customs issues. .

As above, have purchased a number of items now from OZ, most sellers state they do not ship to the UK, but if you e-mail, most are happy to.

Like Granby, I've recently ordered 2 HID sets from OZ, both set for AUD22 P&P, got stuffed with extra charges on one set, but not the other, it's just luck.

Ive purchased discs/pads, air intake, badges and few other bits from Aus, no issues and surprisingly quick delivery considering the distance.

Got collared for the duty on the discs/pads but value was marked as low so no real issue, still made a hefty saving.

Ive bought stuff from the states but for some reason it takes ages for them to get here.

Latest purchase on its way from Aus,

Matt Black, £17.03 inc postage.

I've ordered bits with no problems, send the sellers an email to ask about shipping and they've always been happy to smile

Been lucky with customs too.

Ordered some parts from Oz, had one arrive Friday actually, no customs, generally I've found that lower priced items are ok (I think the limit is something low like £10, or converted from there) but in practice lower value items aren't worth the custom's time maybe. Anything of higher value I'd assume you'll get asked to pay.

Best thing I find is stuff from oz fast to deliver.

It was a set of alloys I fancied so perhaps the tax might be a killer. It's good to know so many have had good experiences, I didn't realise the value possible.

I would think alloys would not be economical to ship from Oz.

I've shipped over a bumper, spoiler, differential, and various other bits but For 4 HSV gts 20" wheels from jhp in oz was 560aud with dhl, which was £300 and this was a year ago so Would work out cheaper now the exchange rates gone down
Next on the list is brake discs which I've been quoted £260 for shipping, I don't think anythings ever taken more than 4 or 5 days to get to england from oz, but I bought hex vents from the U.S. and took weeks to get here
