Well some numpty ran in to the back of me this morning on the way to work.
The bumper is damaged - split at the bottom and all pushed out at the top, but the rhs exhaust box is pushed in, the vacuum operated lever is now fouling the wheel arch liner, and this has bent the pipe underneath and stretched the hanger quite a bit so I'm not happy driving it.
hoping I don't have to wait ages for the third party to get it repaired...

I don't want to be a picture of doom and gloom similar happened to me,one of our drivers reversed in to my car in our car park,I was not even in the car,it turned out we were with the same insurance company, it was a pain always on the phone to them, eventually it got sorted, well the panel damage was but the power steering was not working and they denied all knowledge of it saying it was not their fault. The icing on the cake was at renewal time they stuck £100 on my premium as I had claimed. I now have to declare I have had a claim for the next 5 years even though it's non fault.

Same happened to us with our Jag...make sure you claim on the other persons insurance not yours otherwise it will affect your NCB and premium.
Make an appointment to see the doctor if you have any neck or back pains and if you have legal cover use it to progress a claim for whip lash ( they usually start at £5k settlement). My wife has reoccurring back pain and that was being hit by a stoopid 17 year old in a grotty Ford Ka at 25mph.

its going through 'accident exchange' who my broker put me on to. I've just had a hire car delivered and the daily charge is rather high! I do have a 14 day cooling off period on this hire agreement though. and there is insurance in place to ensure that I would not have to pay out for the hire.Make an appointment to see the doctor if you have any neck or back pains and if you have legal cover use it to progress a claim for whip lash ( they usually start at £5k settlement). I don't believe there is any claim on my insurance as the other party is at fault?
My girlfriend has also suffered back pain as a result of a similar incident so I know what damage it can do.
I have checked the boot and what appears to be the plastic/fibreglass spare wheel well is cracked.
well nothing has happened to my car, except his insurance have tried to write it off.
Mainly due to the time to get the spare wheel well from Australia so I've been told.
However the car was taken to the body shop on 24th March, his insurer sent engineers to inspect on 1st April, then on 17th I get a call giving me the option to take the cash value of repairs (as estimated by them) and get the job done myself, or just write the car off.
I'm now trying to get my own estimate of repair costs and parts prices to see if its viable.
Really not impressed they wasted so much time and then try and count the hire car costs as a reason to write it off!
