Yeah I guessed that but won't go into it smile

I just need help getting in contact if they're still in business, or if they're not. Will try and not fuel anything regarding lack of ability....

Interesting link, thanks.

Is there any way to check in hp tuner or efi life how a map has been updated, essentially an audit mode of changes so you can see what was done and when, or once the ecu is flashed is that it?

I would be interested in finding this out too as according to my invoices my car has been mapped by them too. Wonder if I could send my PCM to Monkfish to get them to bench map/check it if that makes sense or is even possible? Or somehow get the stock map put back on as its only got full Wortec exhaust/headers and cold air intake so wouldn't be missing much power but would be safe.

I have heard MF lock their tunes. Would that mean that if LSV8 had locked their tune and went out of business, you would not be able to map them again / edit?

That sounds very worrying! I hope if that is true there is someway to get around it.

Unlikely, Mark used EFLive to tune whilst Roger uses HPT. Totally different software, also the map is probably locked in which case you'll have to pay to have it wiped and remapped. If it's just a cat back you can pay for a sport Pac remap or if it works fine just leave it as it is.

Incorrect. AFAIK neither lock their tunes.

And yes, depending on how the changes were made, there is a chronologic list of changes made in the tune with EFILIVE.

In any case EFILIVE can compare a tuned map with an original and lists a table of changes which is easy to read.

Hptuners has a compare function, it highlights the difference between two loaded maps.

Correct if wrong, but I don't think you'll get the history bit if the tune file was pulled direct from the ECU.

This wasn't my experience. Mine needed erasing as Roger was unable to read it.

Not sure that's right. Also, if a company did lock the tune, and cease trading, I think a replacement tune can be uploaded to the ECU.

I had a locked tune on my car. You just wipe it and start again. You cant edit the tune that's there. not hard if you have a reasonably standard set of mods to get the info needed.

Oh bugger? You've got me thinking now! I think you're right the changes are kept in the tune as you save it. Wish Ringram was here to help.
