for anyone interested in the future to get pacemakers...

just fitted pacemakers to my car, i used to have wortec cat back with standard manifolds and d-cat pipes. was ridiculously loud https://youtu.be/_XZ9HDDNZU4. now with the pacemakers its quieter but deeper more v8 noise. good quality manifold for half the uk price and fits well. it doesn't align to the car back wortec so some welding and cutting was needed. fitting took a few hours and i asked a garage to do it but with patience and some tools you can do it you self but you'll still need someone to do some cutting and welding as the pacemakers flange in over 3" and wortec is 2.5"

Thanks for the feed back

What reference did you take? Did you have some issue with the Oil Dipstick?

I was looking for the tri-Y design of the PH5387, and install some Hi-flow catalytic converters on the Wortec Catback.

As part of the group buy for the pacemaker headers, I'm ashamed to say I have yet to fit them! They are nicely made though and a real bargain with the ceramic coating. I've heard no problems with fitting. My collection of parts is growing and I'm running out of excuses for not bolting some of them on. When get the headers done I'll report back. smile

I was also part of the group buy, I bought a complete system from the heads back. My thoughts have been detailed elsewhere on this forum, but in brief:

I ordered the 1 7/8 headers. Fitting was generally ok but it is tight on the drivers side to say the least, however the quality looks great. Time will obviously tell as I fitted mine just after the worst of the winter, so no salty roads etc. Everyting bolted up ok, although I found that my existing Wortec bolted up to it fine, so sold the cat back part of the Pacemaker system as it was too quiet for what I wanted. The car is now very loud with the Wortec and headers (and I've also got the 100 cell cats).

I was lucky that the Wortec was already on my car and I managed to source the loud section from MF.

Overall I'm really happy with mine and have no complaints - I'd happily recommend them to anyone on the forum.

Having spent a bit of time listening to this, I have to say, it does make a lovely sound.

No where near as loud and shouty as a Wortec but produces a lovely deep mellifluous V8 rumble.

And it doesnt drone. Really, what more is there to like? Cracking job Rich.

You altered the exhaust flange to a four bolt then?

That's because people like Ringram have been beaten off the forum.

There are virtually no technical discussion threads on here any more making it a dull place tbh.

I agree, threads like that are missed. I couldn't contribute as I don't have the knowledge/experience, but I certainly read most of them and was largely enlightened by the discussions.

I replaced the pipework from the 4 bolt header flange back completely.

The headers came with 2x loose laser cut 8mm thick mild steel 4 bolt flanges.
I did'nt fancy using these so had some 10mm thick stainless flanges laser cut to same shape.

I've kinda got my fingers crossed that these will be ok emmission wise, got an mot
soon so will find out. I did get a check engine come up which would not clear with
a re-start. My EFIlive could not seen any codes, but cleared the "check engine"
nevertheless. Went out for a reasonable mixed drive afterwards and it never re-appeared
so hoping it was just a glitch with the ecu having been powered down and sensors settling
in.
