hi guys went for a bank holiday outing today, got stuck in some pretty severe traffic, lots of stop start driving, temperature started creeping up and kept going resulting in loss of large amount of coolant. sound of water boiling like a kettle coming from the engine bay. fans were cutting in so no idea what this is any ideas? got it recovered home as i didnt want to risk adding water and carrying on. did a 100 mile round trip yesterday to mym8v8 s meet without issue so this is a shock frown(

Yeah common problem with the VXR Monaro rad caps. Certainly Sounds like rad cap and that's where I would start first. When it's cooled down fill it up and check for water or stain around the cap. Order a new one from monkfish as they are cheap and get it sent out to you.

Its all to do with that Cold Air Induction intake you just fitted. Get it back to stock and I'll take the faulty part off your hands. wink

Fitted a new rad cap and had it all checked over at my local garage, all seemed well until last friday when i returned from a local shopping trip, parked up and noticed coolant pi**ing out all over the drive, so i obviously have more serious problems that i hoped. going to get it trailered down to monkfish next week hopefully for a full checkover. credit card braced frown

Same story as me , faulty cap replaced then fine for a few weeks then i guess the rad got jealous and decided to split in the plastic end tank .
£292 lighter new rad all fine again . Well she is 10 years old.
