New battery imminent.

Where is the cheapest place to currently buy one for my 2008 VXR8 LS3.

Also, how do i fit it please. Probably easy, but never done one beforebiggrin

I believe that the Bosch Silver 096 Battery is pretty good to use.

Thanks for any repliesthumbup

Fish recently supplied and fitted a Bosch Silver 096 in my Monaro (battery relocated to boot) and it was less than £100 excl fitting.

I got one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bosch-S5-Car-Battery-Typ...

Fits in tray perfect although it's slightly shorter so i had to put some foam between the top bracket & battery

If that was your first battery, and it's lasted 7-8 years (from build date) then I would look at getting a replacement from Vauxhall. Apparently they're no more expensive than decent quality aftermarket batteries.

Dave. I keep batteries in stock for VXR8S and Monaros stock. If you want to come up tomorrow you can have one and I can help replace it here for you. Let me know - James

Oh and it's a lot less than £100 but means a drive up

What one you opted for Dave, I will need to change mine soon I think, not sure how long the battery has been on my car, I have had it over 4 years but it has been looked after with a Ctec conditioner when not in use over winter

So can you go to a normal VX garage and get the battery? did you ask for a specific battery? or just say what car you had?

Here is the product I used yesterday, my wrap looked terrible, lots of stains and not a nice look and considered having it done again, scoured the internet on how to clean a wrap and other than distilled vinegar and some fairy liquid which I tried with no luck, decided to use the Maguires soft top cleaner, worked a treat!!! buy a cheap mit and spray it over wrap and wash it in with the mit and then rinse, comes up like new, very impressed I must say.

Household furniture polish is good (and very cheap) - also on your bikes, especially the rubber hoses. wink I've got to have a good look at the roof of my Wind, as you can see where bird strikes have been, even though they are totally gone.

Along side the cover cleaner I have used simonize bug cleaner on the bikes the other day, really impressed with that too
