Hi folks, I'm after a 2007-2009 VXR8 engine ECU (better known as the E38 ECM) for personal development purposes, anyone know where I can find one?

Ps. I'm willing to consider bricked or misbehaving ones too, but would prefer it show some signs of life
Pps. No I haven't buggered my car, smart enough not to try this sorta thing on a daily drive wink

Not sure if our old one would have been chucked in the bin by Monkfish - but that was from an Oct 2008 build. Worth asking if they have any other broken ones? From when ours was knackered, IIRC there were three different ones fitted to the different models of VXR8.

Cheers Araf I'll drop Roger a message.

As far as I've been led to believe there are two; Those for the silver blade throttle body and one for the gold blade throttle body. The two are not interchangeable as the polarity for the motor is reversed. Time answers all questions though and I'll keep digging, thanks smile

I think he had two types on the shelf when ours packed up, and ours wasn't one of them, so it had to come in from the US (at half of the price of a Vx one), and then was a pain to code to the car.

It's actually the latter part of your statement that I'm writing code for smile

Sorry, but when you mention writing code, all I can think of is the Barclays advert "I'm dancing. I'm moonwalking" and wondering where this slots in on the V8 firing order. hehe

Maybe check the number on the one you have. That is using a number from ACdelco but looks like they can have different tunes inside them???

You need to find one with the right letter coding as well as part number eg YRTM ,YRPS etc there is a quite simple process that an aussie showed me to code it to your car and you dont need any scanners etc also works with replacement keys but only up until 2009 pm if you want the sequence to code the ecu
