If the trickle charger is showing that it's bringing the battery to full capacity, then you should be fine. Once the charger shows that the battery has a problem, then it's time to replace.

I know that batteries can fail after 3 or 4 years, but that's abused batteries. If the battery is maintained, then it can last 10 or even 15 years.

Mine operates between 50% to 80%.

When it goes bellow 50% for any length of time i will replace it.

Mine is currently at 78% and starts the car no problem with no long cranking.
