Now the start of this is the best part of a 3hr drive north from me so if anyone fancies it we should probably aim to do it next spring to give people time to get organised.

That looked an epic route I was only talking too my missus about it the other day after seeing it on on that link. Only problem I had would be keeping my 11 month old occupied on such a long road trip, It's 7 hours from me to Inverness. Will keep my eye's peeled on if this turns into a forum road trip might leave them both at home.

Ever since I heard about this (earlier in year), I've been wanting to do it, but I'm in Kent which is about as far from the start point in this country as it's possible to get, some 580 miles and 10 hours of driving just to get to the start point. Plus excursions etc, it'd be a 2000 mile holiday all within the UK for me! I do have a cousin in Edinburgh which I'd probably drive up a few days before to have a 'rest' at, but would seriously love to do this.
Kent is nice and all, but when it's not full of parked lorries, they're intent on building over every square inch in housing to accommodate the UK's booming population all in one county frown
Driving round every major part of Scotland holds a big appeal.

You should try to do the national meet then - not quite as far north as in the link above but still a decent drive!

Would love to have done, but coincided with holiday last year, and birth of baby this year. Next year is the one........(3rd time lucky and all that)

Shame the secrets out!!! Been driving these roads(and more)for decades.Keep forgetting how good the stretch from Durness to Bettyhill is. Have a weeks holiday booked for October based at Ardmair just north of Ullapool.BTW the Indian Curry House in Ullapool is superb.
