So now I have EFILive, I thought it would be good to gather together all the different tips and tricks with regards to EFILive tuning of the GM Small Block Chevy engines. Feel free to add anything else I miss or things you have picked up along the way.

Hardware you will need for tuning:

1: EFILive - This comprises of the tuning software and a Flashscan V2 interface. The software can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.efilive.com/latest/cat/download-efilive... You will need BOTH V8 and V7.5 installed. The Flashscan interface can be bought from the official UK distributor here http://www.efilive.eu/index.htm

2: A wideband O2 sensor. To explain the need for a WBO2 sensor see here: http://www.enginebasics.com/EFI%20Tuning/AF%20Rati... I have an Innovate LC-2 WBO2 sensor bought from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FFTAJPC?psc=... You will also need a male-male serial connector such as this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Serial-RS232-Gender-Change...

3: An SD card to enable use of the flashscan without the need to have a laptop in the car when logging. I just bought the cheapest smallest card Maplin had in at the time. Turns out that 2GB is the smallest they do! A 10 minute log came to less than 2mb, though a decent on the road logging session should last at least 30 minutes to enable you to hit all speed/acceleration cells.

4: A computer. Needs to have a USB port and at least 512mb RAM.

Next up will be a list of tutorials etc that you should read to help you understand the processes involved in tuning your vehicle. While I am compiling this you should get over to https://forum.efilive.com/ and also http://www.tunefiledepot.com/
