Anyone on here buy it?

I was going to bid but only spotted it with 12 minutes to go and after a few recent drunken purchases I've told myself no more for a bit.

Ok great. I have an LS1 in my car which needs one. Along with the other gubbins to make it work.

I know he has a supercharger for a Mustang and a partly assembled engine from a Suffolk Punch lawnmower. I'm sure they could be bolted together for you to come to a deal?

Seriously though, the 1900 has many applications and I know Arnie bought an LSA blower cheap on eBay which he's now trying to mate to his LS1. Problem is the LS1 and these later blowers have incompatible intake ports but you can get adapter plates made up. Whether the whole lot fits under your bonnet is a different matter.

Keep a look out for an older 122HH, there's nothing wrong with them and they bolt straight on.

I have, lurking in various places: the parts for an 11.6-litre big block, a 6.8-litre LS2 stroker (fully built), an LS1 in bits with an LSA supercharger, plates and waterpump, several gearboxes, a complete Monaro VXR in bits (just need the picture on the box), a complete CV8 with a VXR body kit also in bits, a broken VT2, many sets if wheels, some exhausts AND a Suffolk Punch lawnmower that makes 2000hp. I sold the 122-charger when I bought the LSA unit.

As ever, everything has it's price. Just don't expect to find anything that's cheap wink

TBH that £500 unit would cost more that's used LSA unit to get working on an LS1 and the LSA setup is very good at keeping temperatures down.

Do you have a running tally for your LS1/LSA build Arnie?

Given I bought a brand new unit, it won't come in much cheaper than buying a kit from Monkfish, especially given the strong pound at the moment. I could have bought a second hand unit with lid for around £800. The plates to convert from LS3 to LS1 are around £130. If you fiddle about a bit, you can run the blower off the accessory drive. I've bought an LSA style water-pump for £100 and will buy the LSA accessory drive for £700. The fuel rails will cost £400, radiator, pump and pipes another £500. It soon adds up.

Finally, it will NOT fit under the hood of a Monaro. I'm looking at Sunoco hoods, as it should squeeze under one of them. I gave up on the ZR1/LS9 lid, as it's gigantically expensive.

And if you're wondering, I did it because it was there.

It would have been more trouble than it was worth, or been a very expensive door stop - so don't feel too bad about it. smile

Can't think something and not do it thumbup

If you do end up importing a hood let me know - I'm after a cheapish, flat CF/GF one and will reduce your p&p...although looks like VFN don't do flat ones. I do like the sunoco cowl hoods, and you've got reason to have one smile

edit: this might put you off the sunoco.

Good spot beer

Sadly, most fibreglass stuff ends up being a pretty poor fit compared to the OEM panels. I remember seeing how much work was required to make a fibreglass dragster body look half decent - hours of cutting, bonding and filling.

Maybe I'll just get a simple bonnet add on - cheaper to buy, ship and finish.

I liked the look of gary_h's but when I went to Walkinshaw about 6 months after it was fitted for some exhaust stuff they were still going on about how hard it was to fit so seems like an endemic problem with aftermarket stuff as noted.
